From April 13 to 16, the national final of the 12th China Middle School Students’ Composition Contest as well as the rewarding ceremony was held in Hefei, Anhui Province. Li Weiran, a student in Class 22 Grade 2016 of High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) and Liu Xiangdan, a student of Class 32 Grade 2015, distinguished themselves from 181 top students from 22 contest zones nationwide.
Themed with “A World of Innovation, I’m in”, the contest attracted nearly 30 million middle schoo students from mainland China, Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao, among whom 181 middle school students stood out to attend the national final. Li Weiran and Liu Xiangdan, under the leadership of Zhou Xiaoqin, a Chinese laguage and literature teacher of AHS, attended the final and won the national 1st prize for senior high school students after going through the written test, the oral test and speech contest in succession. Presenting her solid knowledge of literature as well as an excellent on-site performance, Liu Xiangdan ranked the 5th among middle school contestants and won the prize of “Star of Literature”, the highest prize of the 12th China Middle School Students’ Composition Contest. Liu turned out to be the only one in Shandong Province who won such a laureate and the 3rd AHS students in its history.
Hosted by a combination of Children’s literature of China Writers Association, China National Children's Center of All-China Women's Federation and Middle Schoo Newspaper and Magazines Committee of Workers’ Association of China Children’s Press, China Middle School Students’ Composition Contest is a nationwide composition contest intended for middle school students with the largest scale, the highest level, the largest number of participants and the widest influence of its kind. High School Attached to Shandong Normal University has always been attaching importance to nurturing students’ writing ability and actively organizing students to attend composition contests of all levels, with outstanding achievements having been attained.
