In the afternoon, June 16, High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) held the 9th Teaching Seminar, with the Xingfuliu schoolyard broadcasting the live video. School principals, department directors and all the other teachers attended the seminar hosted by Wang Bin, Director of AHS Teaching Affairs Department.
Zhai Houlan and Zhang Wei, both being the teachers with titles of Senior Teacher, Master Teacher and Distinguished Teacher of Shandong Province, respectively presented a report.
Entitled “Task-Motivation Promotes Teachers’ Development” and combined with the project of Seven Tasks for Upgrading Teachers’ Qualities, Zhai’s report mainly elaborated the development of teachers’ professional capacities. She thought teachers’ inner drive played a key role in their professional development and task-based motivation, timely guidance from experts and effective intervention were efficient measures to promote teachers’ professional growth. She also expressed his hope that teachers would put in to use the advanced and scientific educational theories and forge the courage as well as wisdom to extract from their teaching practice and inspirations something presented as dissertations.
Zhang Wei addressed a report with the name of “Perceptions and Puzzles on Implementing Core Competencies in Classroom Teaching”, in which he pointed out that strengthening moral education was the ultimate requirement, upgrading educational philosophy was the basic prerequisite and optimizing classroom teaching was the major approach of implementing core competencies. Zhang expected teachers to undertake sufficient research on subject core competencies, adjust and balance educational concerns, their roles, the teaching emphasis and evaluation focuses, and give priority in classroom teaching to embodying subject core competencies and effectively achieve the teaching objectives.
High School Attached to Shandong Normal University (AHS) has always attaching importance to forging teachers with the qualities of education masters, among whom Zhai Houlan and Zhang Wei have made their respective outstanding achievements. Their reports inspire AHS teachers to combine in their education and teaching subject sore competencies with AHS’s educational philosophy of “putting students at the first”, strive to nurture students with AHS characteristics, and forge its “most optimal personalized education”.
Wang Bin in his concluding remarks highly praised the two experts’ reports and made further arrangements for the following activities of the seminar. In the following week each subject teaching and research department will respectively undertake discussions and research, following which relative summaries and exhibits shall be conducted.
